Hello friends, Dogentricks.com here. Once again, my fingers are flying under the watchful eyes of the non-forgeiners. Nice.
Today, I had quite literally, an out of this world experience. Allow me to tell you about it.
Getting up a bit later than usual today, I knew there wasn’t enough time to bike my lazy butt all the way down to Kagoshima, so I switched my destination up north and spent most of the day in Fukuoka. There, I went to a starbucks, much like the one I am sitting in right now (LUL), and hit up a namco arcade for the first time in a while. That’s right, TEKKEN ALL OVER YOUR FACE. I ended up beating two guys before walking out of the arcade with a haughty grin on my face and my chest pushed out far past my shoulders. I imagine getting punched by Jin Kazama is somewhat similar to the feeling you get when you win 7 matches in a row–it goes to your head REAL fast. ROFL.
Anyway, the last time I traveled across Kyushu I got caught in some pretty chilly winds on the way home and caught a week long cold. Today, I bundled up real nice and made several pit stops along the way to warm up with a 125 yen vending machine tea. I did this several times–it was pretty damn cold. But that’s not the point. The point is that I overloaded myself on tea, which resulted in a brilliant caffeine high.
As I am plowing through the expressway, the caffeine continues to pump through my system. Thicker, faster. The sun is setting in the distance and the stars are emerging one by one in the twilight sky. Before long, it is nearly black and the roads are empty. A massive straightaway appears in front of me, begging me to open the throttle.
The wind is washing over me, desperately trying to pull me off the bike. I slam my chest to the gas tank, kick it into 6th gear, and pull back my wrist. The road forming before me slowly begins to climb, wrapping itself between volcanoes. My bike, parallel to the road, opens towards the sky.
At that moment, the clouds cleared and a sea of stars emerged. X kilometers per hour, I am angled towards the cosmos and cruising into outer space–nothing but stars in my blurred vision. I kid you not, I thought my bike was going to leave the road and soar into the stratosphere. No other cars on the road, and all under the influence of one too many cups of green tea. A motorcycle space shuttle. Does it get any better than this?
I think not.
Train hard
Hey Dogen,
Great post as uual. I am curious… how is Japan on abiding speed limits?
I always obey the speed limits so I have no idea : )
I see… well… it just sounded like you were going so fast haha…
well that’s simply because I’m great with wordsLOLOL.
Yes indeed you are. Is it because you write a lot? or is it because you read a lot?
Give us young grasshoppers some advice please.
haha yea I write everyday, took several courses on writing during college, and recently have been reading a ton. more than anything though, frequent practice = polished writing.
So when will we have the pleasure of reading a book by you?
